Penguin’s Pounds cashed in for charity

Penguin Supplies Ltd ‘Penguin’s Pounds’ campaign, which ran the week before World Penguin Day on 25th April, raising £100 for their chosen charities Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust and bereavement support charity Edward Trust.

Business supplies company Penguin, donated £1 each to their chosen charities in the week before World Penguin Day as part of their ‘Penguins Pounds’ campaign to help support families in Worcestershire and the surrounding areas. As we ease out of lockdown restrictions, charities are calling for much needed support to boost their fundraising. With so many fundraising events cancelled in the last 12 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, charities welcome support from local businesses both with donations and raising awareness of childhood cancer and bereavement.

Chris Hopkinson, Director at Penguin Supplies Ltd explains, “Charities have had a particularly rough ride of it with COVID-19, fundraising has been so difficult for them and the true extent of the fallout of the pandemic is now being felt through mental illness, through bereavement and of course cancer patients.” He adds, “We always like to try and add a bit of fun to our charity support and the Penguins Pounds campaign in the run up to World Penguin Day certainly put a smile on our customers faces. We even ran a raffle at the end of the week to win tickets to West Midland Safari Park for those who had placed an order as part of Penguins Pounds. Nothing puts a smile on your face like a visit to the penguins!”.
